Halloween Cards | A Fun Way to Celebrate the Season!

When my cousins and I were growing up, our aunt sent us cards for just above every occasion—Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, our birthdays, Easter, you-name-it. She never missed a holiday or an opportunity to gift us with a special written note, and she always sent us cards via the post.

Although Halloween is certainly not known for its card-giving traditions, some part of me (likely influenced by my aunt) loves any excuse to make and send a handwritten card. Halloween seems like just the occasion. It’s such a fun & playful holiday, and it’s one of my favorite fall pastimes. Some believe that Halloween has roots in Celtic harvest festivals or the Gaelic tradition of Samhain. Of course, modern Halloween traditions include dressing up for trick-or-treating, carving pumpkins, and passing out candy. I encourage you to add card making to the list! It’s a super fun and easy way to celebrate the fun holiday!

Today, I am honoring my aunt and sharing some of my original Halloween card designs that you can print and address to kiddos and adults in your life alike. From “smiling” or “dancing” jack-o-lanterns, I’m sharing some fun designs with you, free to download! For a special touch, you can print them heavy card stock cut to size (see printing note below), and make it personal with a handwritten note inside.

I hope you enjoy this fun and easy way to celebrate the fall season!

Happy card making,

Printing Note:

The designs print on 5.5 inch by 8.5 inch rectangular sheets of paper. Cut heavy card stock to size and adjust your printer settings. Then, once printed, fold the card in half and personalize with a note inside. The cards fit in A2 envelopes. For personal use only. Copyright Jordan Nel.
