Jackie is a good friend from work, and when she called me to help plan her Cinco de Mayo bridal shower, I was thrilled! Jackie is an incredibly creative person. I was not at all surprised when she had a vision for the party – that’s always my favorite.
For the Cinco de Mayo bridal shower, we called our mood board ‘Color in the Details.’ Jackie is having a wedding that’s purely black & white. We settled on the shower being the inverse of the wedding. The shower is the time to have beautiful and bright bursts of color, which complements her Mexican heritage. Plus, the setting at Little Goat is stunning.
We set out to keep all of the linens and the tablescape white allowing the flowers, menus and place cards to bring the event to life. I worked with Dilly Lily on stunning floral displays that doubled as a favor for guests. Dilly Lily sourced 40 different vase sizes and shapes to fill the table with lovely blooms. We affectionately called it a floral runner. To tie into the Cinco de Mayo bridal shower theme, Dilly Lilly sourced all bright, beautiful blooms of all sizes that drew people into the table.
Girl Meets Party printed all place cards and menus, which Jackie then watercolored herself. At each place setting, we included one loose bloom carefully placed over each menu. Lastly, Jackie & I decided to forgo a flower wall and opt for fun, giant white balloons from Paris312. I love working with them because it’s just so easy! Setting up for the event was an absolute dream. Nothing makes me happier than setting a beautiful table that makes people gasp and smile.
We’ve pulled together a gallery of stunning images below to showcase all of the beauty. If you have an event coming up, let us know. We’d love to help you plan and/or execute your event! Plus, don’t forget, we have space for up to 20 people at our new location, which we’ll be revealing soon.
