Little touches make all the difference when gifting or designing an event. One of my favorites is personalized labels. When you’re thinking about throwing a party, decor can add up quickly, which is one reason that I love personalized labels. They’re functional and decorative! Plus, for gifting purposes, they’re perfect. Nothing says special like a personalized label that fits a theme.
Champagne & wine labels make the perfect gift for a housewarming, birthday, bridal shower, hostess or thank you gift. My favorites are Label with Love and Gardenia Labels, both found on etsy. Don’t see what you like? Gardenia Labels will create custom designs for you! Celebrate moms (post baby) or brides at a shower with milestone labels.
Bridal & Baby Showers
For bridal showers, bachelorettes and baby showers, your bubbly or wine can double as decor. One of our favorite shops is LabelWithLove. The shop owners, Cyra & Andrea, are fantastic to work with on designs. They’re speedy, creative and super friendly. With so many designs to choose from, you’re bound to find what you want. Each brings a unique feel to your event. Plus they make an awesome keepsake for the soon-to-be Mrs. or mom.
Asking someone to be in your wedding or telling someone you’re pregnant are some of the biggest celebratory moments you’ll have in life. It’s exciting news to share and the perfect time to pop some bubbly. Why not surprise them with a personalized label?
My personal favorite is champagne labels as a wedding favor. These labels are from my wedding. Label with Love designs custom created them to match my wedding invitation. The champagne is simply Cook’s mini champagne from Binny’s. I simply soaked off the Cook’s labels and changed them out. In total, 130 mini bottles took a few hours. A word to the wise, set them in the water to soak and head out. Doing them in batches was key!
- Get your your supplies: 1 tub OxiClean and 1 bottle Goo Gone – both can be purchased directly from Amazon. The OxiClean package is perfect, too, because it comes with a great scoop. And let’s be real, we don’t have pictures of them here because they’re not the cutest products, but they certainly get the job done.
- Prep the ‘tub’ and soak bottles for 30 minutes: You’ll want to use at least three scoops of OxiClean and fill your kitchen sink with luke warm to cold water. The water should be slightly cloudy with a few suds, similar to a post from The Busy Budgeter. Let the soak for at least 30 minutes or until the water cools down. Many of the labels will fall off automatically, but for the ones that don’t, peel them off very slowly. Be patient because once you rip the label, it’s a bit hairy to get it fully off.
- Wipe residue with OxiClean, Adhere new label & Shine with Goo Gone: Use OxiClean to wipe any residue off the bottles. Apply your new label. We recommend adhering the center of the label to the bottle. Very slowly, start to peel the paper off the label smoothing it down onto the bottle ensuring that you smooth out any air bubbles. Last but not least, we love to polish the final product with Goo Gone. It gives the bottles a really nice shine to make it look super professional. We’d love to hear more about your experience below!
